CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia Cavaliers were represented on the 2017 Indoor Track and Field All-ACC Academic Team by seven men and three women as announced by the conference office today (April 20).

Redshirt junior Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) led the group with his fifth All-ACC academic honor, spanning the indoor and outdoor track and field and cross country seasons. Junior Chase Weaverling (Darnestown, Md.) and senior Cleo Boyd (Kingston, Ont.) notched their fourth honors, while seniors Aaron Worrell (Fort Eustis, Va.) and Christine Bohan (Avon Lake, Ohio) and junior Jack Lint (Westerville, Ohio) were listed for the third time. Senior Zach Herriott (Kansas City, Mo.) is now a two-time honoree. Senior Henry Wynne (Westport, Conn.), redshirt junior Jeff Jernigan (DeKalb, Ga.) and sophomore Kelly McKee (Lenexa, Kan.) received their first All-ACC academic nods.

Nine of the selected Cavaliers earned All-ACC honors during the indoor campaign, finishing in the top six of the final heat. Mihaljevic's indoor season was highlighted with his third-straight ACC title in the shot put, while Lint led the ACC heptathlon event.

At the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Herriott earned second-team All-America honors with a 12th place finish in the 5,000 meters. He finished third in the conference championships in the event.

Wynne placed second in the mile and third in the 3,000 meters at the ACC Championships, while Worrell took fourth in the triple jump. Weaverling finished sixth in the 5,000 meters and Jernigan placed seventh in the pole vault.

Boyd led the women at the conference championships, finishing second in the 5,000 meters. Bohan earned fourth in the shot put and McKee placed fifth in the triple jump.

The Virginia men tied for the second-highest selections with Notre Dame. Virginia Tech led the conference with nine student-athletes.

Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.

The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a grade point average of 3.0 for the current academic year, will be released in July.
