NEW YORK - Virginia junior Payton Hazzard (Huntington, N.Y.) competed Saturday in the adidas Grand Prix, a Diamond League event on Randalls Island in New York City. It was an opportunity for Hazzard to run the 400m in the elite series of meets.

Hazzard, running near his hometown on Long Island, finished fifth in his heat of the 400m with a time of 46.60. British Olympian Michael Bingham won the race in a time of 45.13.
