CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia (5-7) men’s lacrosse team returns home for Senior Day, a Saturday afternoon clash with the Bellarmine Knights (7-4) at Klöckner Stadium. For the second time this season and the sixth time since the USILA coaches poll began in 1973 Virginia is not ranked.  Bellarmine is receiving votes in this week’s Nike/Inside Lacrosse’s media poll. Faceoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Live stats will be available at VirginiaSports.com.

Gates open at 12 p.m. and free parking will be available at University Hall and McCue Center East lots, as well at the Emmet/Ivy Garage.  Baseball hosts Florida State at 4 p.m. on Saturday and baseball fans will be able to access the same parking lots. Click here for a parking map for Saturday.

There will be a video webcast on VirginiaSports.com through Cavaliers Live for a subscription cost. John Freeman will bring the play-by-play and Doug Tarring will provide the analysis.

Ten Virginia fourth and fifth-years will be honored before the game as part of this year’s Senior Day festivities.  Matt Cockerton, Jacob Ghitelman, Dan Lantz, Chris LaPierre, Conor McGee, Nick O'Reilly, Harry Prevas, Blake Riley, Charlie Streep and Matt White will all be honored.

Saturday marks only the second all-time meeting between the Cavaliers and Knights, a series that began in 2006 during Bellarmine’s second season at the NCAA Division I level.  Virginia rocked Bellarmine 21-10, behind three-goal games by Matt Poskey, Danny Glading, Ben Rubeor and Matt Ward. Garrett Billings led all players with six points on two goals and four assists.

O’Reilly’s 25 assists and 45 points lead Virginia, while Mark Cockerton is tied for the nation’s lead with Steve Mock of Cornell with 38 goals. White and Rob Emery round out UVa’s top scorers with 19 and 17 goals, respectively. Rhody Heller has started the last five games in the cage and is posting a 12.57 goals against average and saving 47.9 percent of shots against him.

Bellarmine head coach Kevin Burns is in his second season leading the Knights and has turned around a program that was 4-8 in his initial campaign in 2012. Bellarmine University, located in Louisville, Ky., is only Division I in men’s lacrosse, with the rest of its sports competing at the Division II level. The Knights are coming off of back-to-back double overtime losses, including one at the nation’s current No. 1 team, the Denver Pioneers, two weeks ago. Bellarmine’s goalie Dillon Ward leads the nation in save percentage, stopping 68.8 percent of shots against him and is posting a 6.98 goals against average. Cameron Gardner leads the Knights with 24 goals and 27 points.  Michael Ward and Lance Robinson round out the top scorers with 18 and 16 goals respectively.

Virginia returns to action on Friday, April 26 in the 2013 ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championship.  The No. 4 seed, UVa will face the No. 1 seeded Maryland Terrapins at North Carolina’s Kenan Stadium. Faceoff is slated for 5 p.m. and will be televised live in HD on ESPNU.  The winner will meet either Duke or North Carolina on Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m. for the ACC Championship.
