CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 4 Virginia field hockey team will be the No. 5 seed in the 2013 Atlantic Coast Conference Field Hockey Championship being held Thursday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 10 in Newton, Mass. The Cavaliers will open the tournament, facing No. 7 Duke (13-5, 3-3 ACC) on Nov. 7 at 11 a.m. at Field Hockey Field.
The Cavaliers ended the regular season with a 15-4 overall record and a 3-3 mark in the ACC, tying for third place with North Carolina and Duke. The Tar Heels were awarded the No. 3 seed by virtue of the goal-differential tie-breaker. Duke was named the No. 4 seed.
