CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia field hockey team had three players, including Elly Buckley (Jr., Scarborough Perth, Australia), Paige Selenski (R-Sr., Shavertown, Pa.) and Michelle Vittese (R-Sr., Cherry Hill, N.J.), named to the 2012 Longstreth/ NFHCA Division I All-American teams. Selenski and Vittese earned first team honors while Buckley was named to the second team.

Selenski led the conference in seven different statistical categories this season en route to being named the ACC Offensive Player of the Year and the Longstreth/NFHCA South Region Player of the Year. This is her fourth All-American honor. Selenski was named to the second team as a freshman and has been a first-team All-American each of her last three seasons. She is one of just 11 players in ACC history to earn All-American honors four times. She joins Meridith Thorpe and Michelle Vizzuso as the only Virginia players to be a four-time All-American.

Vittese, a midfielder, earned her third All-American honor. She was named to the third team as a sophomore and the first team as a junior. Vittese scored a career-high nine goals in her senior campaign with seven assists. As a member of the US National Team, she was named the 2012 USA Field Hockey Player of the Year.

Buckley earned her third All-American honor. She was named to the third team her freshman season and was a second team honoree last year. Despite moving from forward to sweeper this season, she was the team's second leading scorer. Buckley was fourth in the ACC with 41 points and fourth in goals (17). She also led the conference with five defensive saves. This is her third first-team All-Region honor.

Virginia's season ended with a 5-2 loss to Princeton in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
