Virginia Receives NSCAA Team Academic Award

CHARLOTTESVILLE - The Virginia women's soccer team was honored Monday by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America with a 2011-12 NSCAA Team Academic Award. It marked the third consecutive year the team has received the award.

To be honored, a program must have had a team grade-point-average above 3.0 for the 2011-12 academic year. The Cavaliers posted a 3.19 team GPA last year.

Virginia was one of 726 programs nationwide (men and women, Divisions I, II and III) that were recognized.
