CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—Virginia volleyball head coach Dennis Hohenshelt announced Thursday (Nov. 14) that Haley Fauntleroy (Winnetka, Ill.) and Haley Lind (Stevenson Ranch, Calif.) have signed National Letters of Intent to join the Cavaliers for the 2014 season.

“After bringing in two big classes, we felt that we needed quality over quantity, especially since we really only lose one senior in Emily Rottman,” Hohenshelt said. “What we were looking for in this recruiting class were two student-athletes that could make an impact immediately. I think these two will be able to contribute from day one. Both have had a great fall season and I’m very excited about these two joining our program starting in 2014. They both embody what a UVa student-athlete should be. They are great students, great volleyball players, and they make our program better upon their arrival on Grounds.”

• 2012 Pioneer Press All-Area Second Team

“I targeted Haley when I first came to Virginia because I thought she would be a good academic fit and a really good volleyball player,” Hohenshelt said. “When she verbally committed, we were very excited. She has had some great experience with the U.S. Junior National Team and I think she’ll be ready to play as soon as steps on Grounds and be a big-time player in the ACC.”

Haley Lind
